Bus Trip to Savannah, Georgia

The St. Joseph Catholic Church (1012 N. Annual Blue Mass

Attention active and retired law enforcement, fire EMT, and military personnel and their families. Bishop Malooly invites you to the 2019 Diocese of Wilmington “Blue Mass” on Friday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Church, 809 South Broom Street, Wilmington, Delaware. The “Blue Mass” honors the local, county, state, and federal law enforcement, fire, emergency medical, and military personnel who live and work in Delaware and on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Those currently serving, the retired, and their families are invited to attend.

Blessing of Animals

St. Francis was a friar from Assisi, Italy. He is the patron saint of the environment and animals because he loved all creatures and allegedly preached to even the birds. 

The blessing of Animals is a tradition that has not been celebrated by St. Dennis Church for many years, we are                      

reinstating the blessing on Oct. 6, 2019 at 10am in front of the Religious Education Center.

Please join the Diocesan Vocations Guild and Father Christopher Coffiey on Saturday, October 12th, as they travel to The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, Pa.  The departure time is 8 am from St. John the Beloved (907 Milltown Rd, Wilmington, DE).  Arrive at the shrine around 9:30 am and leave from the shrine around 4 pm.  There will be a tour of the Shrine by one of the Pauline Fathers, a fifteen-minute movie about the Shrine, and time on your own to explore the grounds and visit the gift shop, etc.  The cost of the pilgrimage is $30.00 per person for the bus and $15.00 for lunch (or, you may brown bag your lunch).  Please contact Mary Gaworski at (302) 438 – 6969 after 3 pm or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. Graveside Prayer Service for the Unborn

Deacon Joe Cilia, from Church of the Holy Child in Wilmington, will conduct a prayer service at the graveside of 63 aborted children at Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 9:45 a.m. The half hour prayer service will begin with a short procession from the Queen of the Apostles Chapel to the grave. It is part of the annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children co-sponsored by Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Priests for Life and the Pro-Life Action League. Members of the Delaware Knights of Columbus and other representatives of the pro-life community will be in attendance. The public is invited and cemetery attendants will be on hand to direct visitors to the chapel.

After the prayer service, attendees are invited to go to Church of the Holy Child Social Hall, 2500 Naamans Road, Wilmington, for a free showing of the movie “Unplanned” and luncheon from 11:00 to 2:00.
